This beautiful Category 1 Heritage Church was closed following the 2013 Seddon earthquakes, to allow for extensive seismic upgrading to take place. This upgrade has been completed and the building is now open to the public once again.  Great care has been taken to ensure the historic fabric of the building is maintained both inside out outside the building.  The design also included low damage aspects, to help minimize damage during major EQ events.  This design was recently awarded The New Zealand Society for Earthquake Engineering (NZSEE) 2017 Low Damage Design Award – Best Heritage Project.
